Thar desert solar farm: a milestone project
In 2015, we completed a 120 MWp project combining five photovoltaic plants equipped with a total of 612,000 solar panels.
Situated in the Thar desert of Rajasthan in the north of India, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission was constructed by our joint venture ACME Solar. The project provided a boost to the local economy and employment, as we worked exclusively with local Indian businesses for construction, operation and maintenance work.
105 MW wind farm commissioned in Gujarat
In January 2020, EDF Renewables completed a major new wind farm in Gujarat. The Verdant facility will generate enough power to cover the annual energy needs of more than 300,000 Indian households.
Construction took 18 months and involved more than 300 local workers. bringing significant economic benefits to this rural region of Gujarat. The new facility will generate enough power to cover the annual energy needs of more than 300,000 Indian households. In so doing, it will help reduce CO2 emissions by around 360,000 tonnes every year.
Koldam Hydro-electric power project
Our team worked as primary consultants on the 800-MW KOLDAM Hydro-Electric Power project, featuring a dam measuring 167 metres at its highest point. From the conceptual design review through to commissioning, our teams were responsible for all the engineering work
